RacsO Ledger

Douglas Racso's diary of everything blah blah blah

Why RacsO Ledger?

RacsO Ledger as the name implies, is my means of recording everything that happens to me. Since my life is all movie, movie, movie, music, music, TV, books and work, that is all I write in here. But my ledger is predominantly for movies. So I hope you guys enjoy!

Movie of the Week

100 I have never seen Mylene this good, and this movie is a nice comeback for underused actress Tessie Tomas, who just proved that she can do drama as well ditto the ever great Eugene Domingo. This is not a story about death, it is about life, and how you spend every minute of it.

DGA Predictions

So the DGA winner will be announced later so here is my take on it.

Nominees:
  • Paul Thomas Anderson, There Will Be Blood - I think Anderson is in it to win this award. Everyone who has seen There will Be Blood loved it and critics have been hailing it. Anderson has received award after award along side lead star Daniel Day Lewis. I think he is a dark horse in this race. But I think after the GG win Schnabel is also vying for this win.
  • Joel and Ethan Coen, No Country for Old Men - Obviously they are the frontrunners to win this award. They snagged most of the precursor awards and they are due for a win and this is theirs to lose.
  • Tony Gilroy, Micahel Clayton - Michael Clayton is received very warmly. But I think this nomination, though deserving, is Gilroy's award.
  • Sean Penn, Into the Wild - I don't think that the actor turned director applies here. I think that works only if the movie is received far better than this. But come to think of it I think this is better than Dances with Wolves.
  • Julian Schnabel, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly - After receiving that GG win Schnabel is also in the running to win this award. I think the movie is good but there are far better work than his.
Will Win: Coen Brothers
Could Win: Anderson or Schnabel
Should Win: Coens or Anderson
Snubbed: Joe Wright (Atonement)
