I haven't really actually loved any of Gus Van Sant's recent films (Gerry, Paranoid Park, Last Days except Elephant) I just end up just liking them or thinking that they are OK at best. But with his latest offering, I think I really got interested with his work. "Milk" is a formulaic and by-the-rules biopic starring the perfect Sean Penn as Harvey Milk. It also boasts a stellar supporting cast lead by Josh Brolin, James Franco and Emile Hirsch. Though I sometimes feel that it focused to much on Milk (but duh), thus the title.
